Driftwood is a soft bookcloth for covers, spines and repair patches, where the binding should sit back and let the text block speak.
The weave is fine and even, so it takes tooling cleanly and hides handling marks on the larger cases. Smaller pieces suit single volumes and quarter-bindings; the full width sheets suit batch work and larger cases.
Which cut size do you need?
The 270 × 245 mm piece is the practical choice for a single volume, a spine strip or a repair patch, and it posts flat with your other cloths. The 1365 × 245 mm strip covers several spines or a set of small cases from the one length, so the grain and the colour stay consistent across the set. The two large sheets — 1365 × 500 mm and 1365 × 1000 mm — are for full case covering and batch work, where you want to cut every case from a single sheet rather than joining pieces.
Please note the large sheets — 1365 × 500 mm and 1365 × 1000 mm — will be packed in the individual parcel, in order to avoid damaging. The shipping cost will still depend on the size and the weight of the parcel.
Please note if you would like more than one colour, we can combine the cloths in the one parcel to reduce your postage. Please contact our team member before you order.
