Linen thread is known as the strongest and highest quality sewing thread for bookbinding. This thread is made from 100% pure linen and undergoes a polished satin finish.

The thread is dipped in a mixture that contains PVA (polyvinyl alcohol), then dried and smoothed over polishing woods. This creates a beautiful surface with a smooth feel for easy handling, durability and resistance to fraying, making this bookbinding thread a pleasure to work with.

Polished, Not Waxed

Many customers in Australia search for waxed linen thread because wax makes thread smoother, less likely to tangle, and helps it hold tension. This linen thread is not waxed. It is a polished linen thread, which gives a similar smooth, strong result through a different finishing process.
