This unit, constructed of American oak and European beech, is designed for a tabletop or workbench.
Distance between press screws is APPROX. 39 cm and maximum opening width of jaws is APPOX. 8-9 cm. An added feature of this press is a micro-adjustable rise and fall table below the jaws such that extremely accurate measurements for book block trimming can be made. Maximum operating depth (i.e. spine to fore-edge measurement) is 24.5 cm with the bottom plate, 36cm without the bottom plate. Note that the jaws can be moved back beyond the rise and fall table to allow for a greater text block depth.
The plough features a removable blade held in place by magnets, allowing easy removal for sharpening.
This unit has seen relatively little work, trimming an estimated 50-60 book blocks.
